I use this as a top layer for our dogs when they sleep with us. We used to use these extra large fleece blankets but it was a bit hot and our dogs didn't like sleeping on them. You always tried to push her away. I noticed the only thing they didn't remove from their beds or our couches was faux fur. So I found a king size faux fur bedspread. It was great but too heavy (perfect for winter). So I switched to Da DA throws, they are great, light weight and strong. Unfortunately for the price it was hard to get a pair. Then I found this one and was skeptical, but it survived the first wash soft and light. I'm happy that I can get two Kawahome blankets for the price of one DaDa bedding. Now I can stock up and have a few handy for on the go and put on my bed when I'm washing another.
