At first I thought GooGone works well. However, this could not completely remove the resin and was particularly problematic on sloping or vertical surfaces. Even in flat areas it mostly softened the sap, which unfortunately allowed me to apply a thin layer of sap over wider areas of my car. No washing, no polish, not even WD40 film was removed. The biggest problem was the windshield; Now I have a sticky, sticky layer that won't come off. Hopefully an internet search will bring a solution. It worked great for light juice stains that I can usually remove with my fingernail - not much added value!
