So this is the second smart pen I've bought and the first that actually works. It's so easy to use initially that it's confusing because once you figure out which end of the battery goes up and which end goes down, it just works. This means you can write with a pen on the laptop's touchscreen. It works great on my HP Envy 360. The proportions and weight of the pen are fine. As far as functionality is concerned and whether you actually need it is another matter. If you write a lot on the screen and used your finger before, this is much better. But that's all. It doesn't actually do anything else. So far I've only used it to sign documents, which is useful but honestly doesn't cost nearly $40. If I were an artist or wanted to mark up documents manually (as opposed to Word) that would be much more useful. Who knows, maybe over time I'll start using the pen more in my normal work. But now, unless you're a graphic artist, no matter how well they work (and this one works well), I'd probably buy one of these smart pens. Your finger is fine.
