Good, but not strong/permanent. Do not use to protect something important.

One had its pins snapped off on first use and one had its receiving end torn. They're great for light, impact-free use, but if you're planning on using them for securing suitcases, securing things to your car roof, kayaking gear, camping, or any other high-value purpose, they're not designed to hard to pull or take a hit. It's probably better to spend a little more money and protect what you choose to buckle up. For the 1 1/2" buckle (expected use for larger, heavier items) I was disappointed.
