EDIT. I spent some time playing with it and found that it charges when I put the end of the connector on an object. Apparently it's quite gravity sensitive, which still seems like a significant design flaw when you're using it somewhere other than the ISS. I ordered it at the end of March and as it is not considered essential I have waited a month for it. That does not work. It fits right in the car, just doesn't charge it at all. No light, nothing. Tried multiple outlets to make sure it wasn't me, but it didn't matter where it was plugged in - nada. I've been waiting for a lemon for a month. Don't waste your time.
