The combination of anchor links and quick connectors is at the heart of a thoughtful and flexible design. You can use these anchors and connectors not only with the wide, adjustable collar/belt, but also with the narrower leash and hand strap also sold by Peak Design. The material of the strap is very light and strong: some compare it to the seat belt material for what it looks like. It folds up quite compactly and packs away in the small pouch that comes with it: the upside is that it can be easily detached and then tucked away in a camera bag or backpack. The material of the strap slides smoothly over clothing, allowing you to rotate the camera to eye level very quickly. Belt buckles make it easy to adjust the length. You can quickly switch between camera bodies by placing anchors on whatever you have. Peak Design also sells links and connectors separately so you can accessorize your favorite other brand neckband that you may not want to be without (I used the set on my Crumpler Industry Disgrace bracelet). Peak Design offers very good and versatile solutions. However, there are two or three points (not exactly "against" but things you might want to consider) that can be noted: Peak Design does not advertise videos of anchors that wear out over time (how long can I'm not saying) in a way that regular neck straps won't wear out. Only after you have made your purchase and unpacked the box will you see a warning with the three colored layers of Vectran monitoring cable (black: OK; yellow: not sure; red: replace). So expect replacement parts in a few days. Also, the idea of hanging an expensive camera and lens on a tripod base using the same mount is too risky for my liking (I'd check every five minutes). If you have a Manfrotto tripod, this PD plate will not fit. There might be a bit too much metal included for those worried about scratching their cameras and lenses: the slide buckles have metal adjusters, and the backs of the quick-releases are metal springs, but they're recessed enough to probably not be an issue . If you have pinches or arthritis in your hands, the anchor and link system, while simple enough for almost anyone, can be a problem for you. Those limitations aside, this is a good, smart system. It seems to be based on much thought and practical experience.
