Spare batteries
These flashlights have replaceable batteries, so they shouldn't die over time like batteries do. I don't think the batteries will be used while the light is plugged in. The light can be set to a dimmed or high brightness level. The lights are yellow rather than bright white. Night lights can be turned off, but will not turn on automatically when it gets dark. I don't use them in bedrooms, but leave them on in other rooms to light the way for my daily walk around the house. I don't know how long the batteries will last. These are standard batteries.
