Poor quantity control? Random Doodle? Bad storage?
The ball head came out of the box with a lot of rust and corrosion which made the rotation very sticky and uneven. Even after light polishing it is still visible. The hot shoe straps didn't slip into my D700's hot shoe at all. The first time I had to use a screwdriver to pry it back out. After some sanding it fits snugly but can now be removed by hand. I may have been ripped but it seems poorly done. Unless I was using it for a purpose other than holding a Lumimuse LED or wondering why it isn't working and how I can improve it, I would return it in a heartbeat.
