I tried exactly 3 headsets (Microsoft Xbox One Official Headset, PlayStation Gold 2018 Wireless Headset and Razor Headset) and was looking for a viable option with decent sound quality and mic as all the headsets I've bought have had build quality issues and terrible mic quality. I've skipped a wireless headset because from what I've seen it's incredibly expensive. I saw an advertisement for the SteelSeries Arctic 1 headset and it seemed too good to be true (very low price for a wireless headset and interchangeability between 3 consoles) and to my surprise it lived up to almost all of its claims. The wireless connection works seamlessly with the included dongle, and I haven't had any dropouts or lag issues on either the PS4 or the Nintendo Switch. I originally bought this headset primarily for PS4 as I thought wireless headsets were totally incompatible with the Nintendo Switch, but the headset actually works effortlessly and all the buttons on the headset (mic on/off, volume control) work. on both systems. The microphone quality is excellent, as is the sound quality, perfectly balanced and not ridiculously distorted towards the bass, and the volume can be cranked very high on both consoles if desired. The battery life has also been excellent so far, I didn't have to worry about that when using it and only had to charge it once a week out of habit. The headset itself doesn't look flimsy and appears to be decently constructed. It's fairly light and surprisingly comfortable to wear, which is why I use it a lot when I'm working on my laptop. The only thing that annoys me a bit is that when I switch game consoles and want to use the headset on it, I have to get up, unplug the headset key and put it in the console I'm using (e.g. from PS4 on Nintendo Switch). This is pretty much a first world problem, but I've run into it from time to time. Overall I have to say I really like this headset, if you were on the fence for this thing I really recommend you give it a try. UPDATE June 2020: It's been 8 months since I bought this headset and I just wanted to let you know that it has stood up to ROCK SOLID. This thing is by no means flimsy, and the battery life is incredibly good. I've been playing really long sessions, like 5-6 hours at a time with friends online, and this thing just runs with no issues. I can say that one of the few purchases I've made was worth it. LATEST UPDATE April 2021: I got my hands on a PS5 and am happy to report that the headset works flawlessly with it. The new thing I love about the headset is that the PS5 has a USB-C port on the front, which means you don't have to use the included cable that comes with the USB-A headset dongle , you can connect it. directly to the PS5 and it sits flush and almost invisible.
