Review on Delman by Johnny Moger
Having used DataStax Enterprise before, I was excited to see that they have incorporated this technology into their product.
However, I think they could take this product a step further. For example, they should make it so that if I use an old version of the software (i.e., 1.0) that it still has the ability to sync data to other products (i.e., 1.1). Also, I would like to see the data load times be faster. I think this product has a lot of potential. It provides great functionality, but I wish it was better integrated with other products and had a little less bugs. This will probably be my new go-to solution for unifying data in my organization.
Pros
- The ability to connect to Hadoop is a big pro as it gives me the opportunity to integrate Hadoop with my other big data projects.
- It is very easy to import your own data to start using the application without having to wait for others to push their data into Hadoop.
- There is not much documentation that I could find, but I believe it should have plenty of support within its own community.
Cons
- The lack of documentation
- Slow to load data
