I bought two of these a few months ago for β¬299.99 with the intention of connecting them to my HP work laptop and my personal 2017 Macbook Pro which only has 2 USB-C ports. My goal was to have a cable straight to the Macbook and set up two monitors. IDEALLY?! The standard USB-C protocol is 45W, which is half of what the MBP needs to stay fully charged under load. That meant two wires. Okay, no big deal, I can handle two wires. I made a mistake here. USB-C and daisy chain are not connected in any way. Daisy chain ONLY FOR DISPLAY PORT. You can't input via USB-C and then use the displayport to daisy chain. If anyone figures this out please let me know because I can't find any information on how to do this anywhere. Again it doesn't really matter. You can use two USB-C cables, one for each monitor, and it works like a charm. Grab some longer 6ft cords to make them pretty and you're done. (Monitors come with 3 feet). This was surprising for peripherals since each monitor has 3 USB 2.0 ports. I've connected a mouse, keyboard, and keyboard accessory port with minimal clutter. I mounted mine on a two arm table clamp mount. (It was cheap, they don't match perfectly, it drives me crazy) Controlling the monitors through my Work HP via the display port was very easy. Adjust daisy chain settings in moniotrs settings, connect it to one of them and it worked. Nothing bad. The downside here is that the display port can't read USB data, so I have to connect a mouse and keyboard to the laptop's USB ports. That meant I had to switch a lot every time I switched between them. I used to connect my Xbox to a monitor via HDMI all the time and just switch to that input when I wanted to use it. Daisy chain continued on the other regardless of the input selection on the main monitor. They're 2k so the picture is amazing but only 60Hz which is a deal breaker for a lot of gamers. I work on these suckers all day and then play them all night, so for me 2k was a winner over higher refresh rate. I could do 2k at 144Hz, but back then I was spending almost 3x more on each monitor.
