I was happy to decorate my windows without fiddling with cords, extension cords and awkwardly located outlets. I was very satisfied with the light atmosphere of my windows seen from the street. The box is smaller than I thought it would be, but it closes neatly and is strong enough for storage. Some suckers took a lot of persuasion (hot water baths and hard bending) to stay on the cold windows, especially in the beginning. Over time they stayed in place better. You unscrew the bulb and insert an AA battery into the candle holder, then screw the bulb back in. Half of the candles lit up easily and stayed lit when moved. The other half really needed a bit of tweaking to make the battery contact keep burning when pressed when applied to the window. From other reviews I knew I was in trouble and wasn't as frustrated as usual. Candles hold well to hooks on suction cups. I tried a candle in the clamp base and it didn't feel like a tight fit in the holder. It seemed too unbalanced and too heavy to securely attach to a branch. I didn't really use clips. The brightness of the candle was much weaker than that of electric candles. The light quality was warm white (not gray or bluish, not gold or orange). I liked the 3 brightness settings as well as the flicker option. The remote worked well, just not through thick curtains. I really wanted to use the timer feature but I just couldn't get it to work properly. It was disappointing. I will try again next year. I recommend this product with reservations. Also order a large pack of good quality AA batteries.
