Review on πŸš— Hayden 2597 Premium Automotive Fan Clutch by Jeff Rothstein

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Fan clutch not as shown, not Behr, made in China, defective

I was excited and was looking forward to a fan clutch like the one in the picture. Behr, Made in Germany! When the package arrived, the box said Hayden 2597 made in China. Made in China was also written on the clutch itself. I called Revain and expressed my displeasure. They said they would send a replacement in 4-5 days. My Audi has been in the parking lot for 4 days waiting for the first fan clutch. The replacement came two days later. The second fan clutch was slightly different than the first and looked a little better. But it wasn't Behr and it was still made in China. The box still said "Made in China" but the part itself didn't say any country of origin. Since my car was parked for over 6 days I decided to install a second one that looked a little better done. I installed a second fan clutch on the machine and there was pretty good resistance when turning it by hand. After a total of 2 hours of driving on the track, one hour each, I opened the hood and turned off the engine. A piece of junk The Hayden 2597 clutch was spinning freely. The fan clutch is DEFECTIVE by definition. The rotational resistance when new, two hours earlier in use, is completely gone. If I cranked it by hand, it would spin a few revs once the engine was up to operating temperature. That faulty fan clutch could have overheated and ruined my aluminum heads if I hadn't kept an eye on the sensors and OBDII scanner. DO NOT BUY what a waste of time.
