On the road (as of this writing) trying to charge Surface Pro 5 with a new car charger. Plugged into 2 separate known working cigarette lighter/charger sockets in my car, power light on charger comes on, plugged into Surface Pro 5. and NOT recognized by Surface Pro! Although it doesn't matter, I connected the UP and DOWN orientation to the Surface Pro 5 and the threshold does NOT charge! It is either a defective device (possibly from China) or it is NOT designed for Surface Pro 5 as advertised/stated in the product description. In any case, it is unacceptable that such a simple device should not work as advertised. There is no return option for this order so it seems I'm stuck with a faulty unit. This makes it impossible for me to continue working after the power is exhausted. VERY frustrating!Description
