All photos of this shelf that I am providing show some modifications I have made and do not represent the configuration of the product out of the box. I ordered this monitor stand with the intention of selling it use to raise some paper trays and bins above my desk to create slightly more accessible storage for even more stuff underneath. When it arrived today I found that it was well packaged and that the shelf was actually made of wood. (MDF?) wrapped in a black textured plastic overlay. I decided to assemble it upside down to get a higher configuration as my goal was to get more space underneath. The legs are plastic assemblies and have protruding pins that fit into holes on the underside of the shelf. The fit between these pins and the holes is very tight and it required a decent amount of force and rocking/wiggling of the legs as I pushed them into the holes to get them in. They didn't quite fit (there is a small gap between the top of the legs and the bottom of the shelf but I didn't want to risk breaking anything by pushing them in. The gaps are the same in all 4 positions. I then used the included power cord Plugged into my Qi charger (12V outlet) and the nearest 12 Pro Max on the charging pad and it charges, but I had to fiddle around a bit to get it sticking out a few millimeters above the surface to start charging , the phone camera hump might hang down on the edge of the charger to make it have better contact with the pad.So I got to work with a quick and easy modification to make it safer (I'm an engineer and don't hesitate to modifying what I've just pulled out of the box, if there's a good reason for it.) The charger is a puck-shaped device, the latter plugging into a hole extending through ch pulls the entire shelf, and there is a large-scale sticker with the Qi logo and the target circle on the surface. This decal was slightly off-center on my stand and I also thought it might have contributed to the misalignment (the decal was slightly shifted towards the back of the shelf making the target appear further from you than it really is ). was). This offset wasn't that big (maybe 3 or 4mm off center) so it probably wasn't a huge contribution, but I think it's worth noting. The charger has multiple latches around the perimeter that grip the inside of the opening, as well as a steel C-bolt that has been bolted to the underside of the shelf for the vertical (insertion) position. The center of this bracket has a threaded hole for a threaded tube that rests against the center of the bottom of the washer. I found I could slide the vinyl cap onto the end of this tube (it's supposed to protect the power cord from the edges of the threaded tube), remove two screws, and then rotate the bracket 180 degrees to change position. disc depth adjustment. I carefully pushed a washer through the shelf to loosen the sticker from the shelf, then ripped the edges to separate it. Once I did that, I cut off the extra protruding sticker around the perimeter of the washer to match its diameter. I then used my iPhone as a guide to determine how far the puck should protrude from the shelf's surface. This ended up about 3mm above the shelf. This will ensure the bottom of the washing machine is flush with the bottom of the shelf. I put the bracket/threaded tube assembly back into the slots in the washer, rotated the bracket until the ends of the bracket touched the surface of the lower shelf, reinstalled the screws, and slid the vinyl cap back onto the threaded tube. The result is a much easier to use phone charging station. I can place the phone on the stand, pull it towards me until the camera hump snaps onto the edge of the charging pad and "beeps" each time it starts charging. I have included a number of photos with this review to show these changes. Structurally, it is very durable - nothing dangles. I am far from hitting max weight on my supplement. Overall I am 100% satisfied with the shelf and after this 5-10 minute modification I give it 5 stars.
