I love this desk! I measured carefully while seated to see how tall my desk needed to be before purchasing this one. Please note that it is not high enough to hang over the sofa armrests. On the contrary, it's the ideal typing height (you have to keep your hands low) if you have a keyboard or laptop on it. I can put the table right on my knees and type comfortably. The table is very solid and strong, I think it will last for many years. The top of the chipboard has no screws going straight into it; Instead, the screws go into metal bushings embedded in the chipboard, meaning they last much longer. This is a high quality table. A wood countertop really does look like wood; It even has a faint texture and a slightly glossy/matte pattern that imitates wood. The table top is a bit bigger than my cheap wooden TV cabinets, but not big enough for mouse and laptop at the same time in my opinion. If I push my 15 inch laptop all the way to the side, there may not be enough room to use the mouse, but it gets tight. Because of this I have another table for my mouse, drinks/books etc. One table is in front of me with my laptop, a second table wraps around my couch next to me so I can put my right hand on it and use the mouse very comfortably.
