I wore this every day when we were snorkeling in French Polynesia and never got sunburned even with bright sun being reflected off white sand. It protects against scrapes from coral as well. I did wear a swim suit top underneath. The fit was great. I bought a tad larger size so that it wasn't tight around my neck when zipped up but it was perfect for in the water as well as to wear as resort wear. The fit and design is flattering. I tried several other types of rash guard tops but this was by far the best design and cut. I highly recommend it.
