I may have received a defective case but the lid did not lay flat when closed. The magnet sticks but doesn't turn off the screen, it's impractical to hold due to the fold of the lid. It's a real shame because my daughter loves the look of this case. I tried weighing it overnight to even it out, but the problem only got worse over the few days we had. I have contacted the company's support via email but have not received a reply. An unprotected tablet does not have to suffer when the case is returned, but is simply disappointed.
