Review on Comica Traxshot: Ultimate All-in-One Shotgun Microphone for Camera, iPhone, and Smartphone by Melody Kershaw

Single solution for two speakers

I wanted to do multiple presentations at the same time with my young kids so I didn't want to use mics for Lava and didn't want to mess with syncing multiple audio tracks I thought I'd give that a try Price. It has a separate gain control, so I turn the camera gain all the way down and just adjust the mic. When I first used it I didn't think it was on until I realized I had my monitors on and the sound was muted when it wasn't working, the sound is so superb I can't tell it apart can. personally. We record in an untreated room with a hardwood floor with only a thin piece of carpet under the speakers and it doesn't sound on the record even without dead cats. So far I've only used 30 degree stereo, 90 degree is too separated for our content but would be fine for other scenarios. Dual mode is great for on-camera interviews. Build quality seems great, shock absorbers are included but they feel underpowered for the weight of the mics both up front and slightly down. For the price, a great solution for our scenario!

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Was damaged
