First I want to give this item 5 stars BUT this is my second pad. The timer broke on my last device, maybe after a year. Cons: 1. The legs on the lantern (the pole you see in the picture) get rusty, it sucks. I painted them with nail polish but the legs are still slowly being eaten away.2. The timer programming is annoying at best, I can understand that, but it's kind of a pain.3. Moonlight is only blue light and too bright for moonlight. Pros: 1. Amazing light for the price, I've had almost every type of coral. Maybe not bright enough for a Stoney but I've now switched to the 12 hour burn time and it's going really well. Small, fits under the hood of my old oceanic biocube (with innards removed)3. Features are good, set it and forget it (if the timer doesn't go bad) 4. The light (not the timer) seems to be holding power unlike the compact flower. After 2 years my corals are still doing very well. Again, the shimmer looks pretty good for the price.
