We recently moved into a new house and were homeless for several days during the move. My SIL took us in and my son (5) slept with his cousin. My son has been sleeping with the lights on since he was old enough to tell me he was afraid of the dark (probably around 18 months old) and nothing I've done has convinced him otherwise. Numerous night lights have been tried in vain. I chose the lowest light to calm him down for a long time. When we finally moved into our new home, my son explained that he needed a night light like his cousin's and agreed to sleep without a light. Good. So, according to him, her night light was bright and changed the colors of the rainbow and helped him sleep. My SIL said she got it from Amazon so I went looking. This is the night light I bought for him. He's been using it every night with the lights off ever since! It has several settings that can be changed with a button on the front that you press. I believe you can leave it on one of the colors or white, or you can cycle through all the colors. We leave it at the color change setting. It's probably around 4 inches and good brightness. Some colors are lighter than others. The red setting is quite dark and initially bothered my son but he has learned to live with it. In general, I'm happy when he's happy and sleeping.
