I can't comment on the battery life as I've only had this product for a short time. However, I am familiar with Andis products. Bought this unit to replace my existing one. I have had previous Andis clippers for over 10 years, they have been great. After 10 years the battery didn't last very long so I replaced the old device with this new one. I made sure I bought another Andis product as the previous device worked so well for so many years.
