Wasted money. good for me

DON'T BUY! Very bad design. You have to take it completely apart to put the batteries in it. You have to take out 10 tiny screws and separate the case, which lets the legs fall off, the lens fall out (a cheap fresnel lens) and the springs come out. The screws just go into cheap plastic, so when you put them back in , even with a jeweler's screwdriver, they strip out. I stripped three, and I was being very careful. You have to turn one side up to put the batteries in, or they will fall out, and when it is in that position, the lens falls out. Then you have to turn it over to put the screws in, and somehow keep the batteries in place while you separate the case enough to put the legs back in. Then you can put the screws back in.(Don't let the case separate, or you start over!) It took me 30 minutes to install 2 triple A batteries, and I never did get the leg springs back in place. If I could see well enough to install those, I wouldn't need the magnifier. Now that I have it this far, it seems like it will be useful, but when these batteries die, I'll either use it with a flashlight, or throw it away.

Pros
  • got it for someone having issues with being able to read small print. she loves it.
Cons
  • the circular pattern on the lens can obstruct view sometimes
