I love love love it when it works! It is absolutely wonderful and a beautiful thick sudsy soap comes out like a dream. It becomes a problem when soap has to be refilled or batteries have to be changed. I have 5 at home so this review is based on more than one. I first had to return one that stopped working after refilling the soap for no apparent reason. That's when I realized that you have to be VERY careful not to let the soap or water even touch the top when you put it back on. And of course never spill water on it! (The instructions say not to use running water, but they don't emphasize it enough to notice. It should be in bold print on the front of the box, and even with a sticker on the dispenser.) The battery compartment almost touches the spot immediately , where you pour the soap, and is not well protected at all; It should have a waterproof barrier, but it doesn't. So I sent it back and now I know I have to be careful. And I mean extremely careful! For example, if the dispenser is dusty or has soap residue on it, NEVER pour water on any part of the dispenser. Use a damp (but not wet) cloth for cleaning. I once ran just the tip under the tap for maybe 15 seconds to rinse away the build up of soap (of course I thought it was just the tip and I'm careful). NO. DO NOT DO THAT. There are seams in the plastic - even there! where water has entered and it no longer works. Water got in at the top and somehow got into the battery compartment and he died. Luckily this time I was able to dry it with a hair dryer and shake off the water vigorously and it eventually worked again. At first it just kept going out of battery, but after removing and replacing the batteries a few times it worked fine for a few weeks. I also bought one for a friend's birthday and she just returned it. to me, does not work, and asked me to return it. Of course, 6 months have passed, so the return period has expired. I looked into her battery compartment and it was wet so I tried drying and shaking, drying and shaking - but this one didn't come back to life. Now I'm trying to decide - should I buy it again? I do not think so. Because while I LOVE this thing, once it works, you eventually have to change soaps or batteries, and it's often a pretty rough process of just getting it working again to pay off. So the result is: It's a beautiful design. in terms of looking good on the counter. This is very poor design in terms of 'normal' use (cleaning or replacing soap or batteries) and often causes problems that are painful at best and stop working entirely at worst. It works great when it works, the problem is that it's too easy to stop even if you try to be careful.
