THE BOTTLE WAS NOT OPENED! If you try to squeeze the bottle, it should be unsuccessful. This indicates that the bottle has not been opened. The ring is to prevent the cap from being punctured all the way to the top of the bottle. You need to 1. remove the cap, then 2. remove the safety ring 3. put the cap on and twist until the tip inside the cap pierces the bottle. This will make the solution available to you. I almost threw away my three bottles thinking they were fake. I hope this helps someone out of this error.
