We have been buying this food for almost 3 years after our cat had a urinary tract obstruction. He had to stay in the hospital for several days to have the blockage removed with a catheter. Cats, especially males, shed crystals in their urine that make their urine more powerful for marking territory. Crystals can sometimes create an internal blockage in cats when they overproduce them. Science Hill's Urinary Tract Formula helps keep this under control. Our cat was free from the lock we changed. It works great on this end. We give him half a can and also give him about half a cup of the same formulation in Science Hill dry food. Cons: Let them know that this food is CAROSCIOUS and has the potential to fill your entire home with its foul smell. We keep his food and linens in a finished bathroom in the basement, away from our living area. Despite this, sometimes the smell still reaches the second level of the house. The cellar always smells strongly of it. Our cat loves to eat it and it has greatly improved his health, but be aware that this food will bring a pungent odor into your home.
