These glasses are great bang for the buck except they use PVC nose pads. A few days after I started wearing them, my eyes started to hurt. I sniffed the nose pads, they smell very poisonous. I did a little research and found that almost all glasses with nose pads use PVC. Soft PVC is highly toxic and causes more problems than just the eyes, including headaches and body aches, as the nerves in the eyes connect to many other parts of the body. Luckily there are silicone nose pads and I will be replacing PVC with them. It's incredible that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) would allow the use of such a highly toxic substance in any product that comes in contact with the body, or even in an environment where someone would have to inhale the toxic fumes.
