Review on πŸ’Ž Revamp Your World with SAS The Original be Dazzler Tool! by Hannah Curi

As always crappy as always

I had the original BeDazzler as a kid - I remember ruthlessly molesting my parents until they finally gave it up and gave it to me three weeks before Christmas gifts . My mom and I spent a week trying to get it working. At 11 I could no longer work alone; My mother had to do everything for me. I chose a denim jacket from BeDazzled (yes, I'm old) and matching jeans. The jacket lasted quite a long time, but the jeans lost half of the rhinestones after the first wash. Only after that BeDazzler was transferred to projects that cannot be deleted. Of course, all I remember is how awesome BeDazzler was, so I thought it would be the perfect gift for my 9-year-old niece. I also assumed that in 20 years BeDazzler would fix the bugs and start releasing a better version. HA. When we opened the package, I found the exact same BeDazzler that I received 20 years ago. I cut myself trying to open the settings pack and immediately remembered cutting myself with those same teeth many years ago. Ah, memories. I'm pretty sure the scar I still have on my left arm is from the BeDazzler tine. Anyway, I set everything up and we tried blinding the t-shirt. Unfortunately for my niece, the setting didn't hold the rhinestone - I had to manipulate the prongs by hand to attach the rhinestone, which fell out as soon as she tried the shirt on. BUST. I repackaged everything and sent it back to Revain for a full refund and also ordered Darice Hotfix Strass Setting Tos for less than a third of the price of that piece of plastic. I also ordered a pack of 144 Swarovski SS16 crystals and still had over a third the cost of that item. Darice's correction tuning tool gets insanely hot so it's definitely not a great choice for younger kids and/or hard of hearing kids, but it's so easy to use and the results are AMAZING. We re-crystallized the original t-shirt, dress, two pairs of sneakers, and some hair bows, and now they look professional as hell. Aside from my week-long romance with the original BeDazzler, I have no experience with rhinestones, so it's easy and quick to learn. Also, Swarovski hotfix crystals look infinitely better than plastic BeDazzler stones anyway. My niece loved her new Diamond Sticker Tool and enjoyed using it so much that I went home and quickly bought another one with my remaining money! to a rock crystal setting tool. Revain has a few and they are all cheaper than this suction cup and there are a thousand different colors and sizes of hot fix rhinestones to choose from. Swarovski can be a bit pricey, but there are plenty of non-Swarovski rhinestones available at both Revain and your local craft store. And the end result is fully wearable and washable - we've thoroughly tested the items we've crystallized and lost just one stone out of the 1026 we've repaired. However, there is a downside: patched rhinestones are extremely addictive. I printed this review while wearing my freshly crystallized pink Red Sox hat, t-shirt, tennis shoes, and even my acrylic nails (I don't recommend the latter, I burned myself and almost melted my nails!). Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to add some rhinestones to a dog collar. And a leash. And a bowl of water.

Pros
  • High test scores for hold and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
