My car's interior looks like new again

The driver's seat of a 2003 Toyota 4runner started to wear out on the outside when I got in. I glued some backing material behind the gap and glued a self-adhesive patch over the gap. I was looking for seat covers that would be comfortable, durable, protect my existing skin, and not drastically change the look of my car's interior. They fit the bill and are reasonably priced. These covers consist of 3 parts for each of the front seats: The lower part covers the seat, the front and 2 side edges and does not interfere with the seat adjustment. The seatback assembly exits from a slot behind your back and just above the top of the seatback and has a zipper that allows you to change the size and position of the headrest and its mounting holes. Lay on your back with the zippers closed to avoid damaging the zippers. The third element is a simple piece that covers the front, top and back of the headrest and has simple elastic straps and clips that attach under the headrest. At first I thought I wouldn't use them but they sit well on my headrest and look really good. What I really like: The material of the seat cover is soft and durable like real leather, the stitching looks nice and doesn't stretch. The gray is maybe a half tone different than my existing skin and it looks great. I didn't expect it to fit so precisely. The ribbed stretch corners at the front of the seat and at the top of the back allow these covers to fit a variety of seat sizes without appearing too loose or tight. The silicone backing keeps the lids in place so they stay in place. I like that the back piece doesn't cover the back of my seat and allows me to keep using the back pocket. Modifications I made: There are 2 sets of straps that run between the seat slot and connect to 2 butterfly washers behind the seat to hold the seat cover pieces in place. I was struggling to keep these discs from slipping back, so I stuck a wooden peg (an old broomstick) underneath. That worked great. So if you have similar problems, give it a try. The only thing I didn't like was that the gold oval company logo didn't match my salon colors. I haven't seen the "Gold Pack" since the mid 90's and never liked it then either. I wish they would embroider their company logo in gray or black thread instead. I used a self-adhesive leather patch that I bought from Masta Plasta to make the oval caps for the logo. The color matched almost perfectly, I was satisfied with the result. Just search for Masta Plasta on Revain when you have a crack that needs repairing before you attach the covers, and you can use the leftover scraps to craft logo covers.
