I live mountain biking in a region that is hot and humid most of the year; about 10 months a year. The key is to have clothing that will keep you cool while providing functionality/protection. I tried Baleaf Pure Black style underwear hoping it would solve some of the body heat issue. FITA Walking around in underwear was fine initially, but after a short 8 mile ride I started to feel a little pain in my perineum from chafing. on my feet The problem is that this underwear is too big in this area. The seat padding isn't that good either. They don't offer the coverage that my other riding shorts offer. If you compare this underwear with riding shorts from another well-known brand, you can easily see the difference in the coverage of the padding in the buttocks area. The thickness of the upholstery is good, only the cover of the upholstery is missing. I point this out because they are meant to replace the longer breeches, but in my opinion the design needs some tweaking to properly accommodate body geometry. ). The little one was definitely too small. It was a choice between medium and large. The large was comfortable but definitely loose (too loose - didn't fit) in the leg holes. The mids fit well but are a little tight around the leg holes. I chose the medium one as I thought it might stretch a bit after use and washing as some reviewers mentioned but after 3 rides and washes nothing happened. Note: I wash cold and hang to dry. At least they keep their shape. Also, I haven't tried Chamois Butt'r, but I don't need to use it with my other riding shorts. If it helps, I'm in great shape at 5'8" and 150 pounds. CONCLUSION The shorts fit but aren't comfortable enough to wear further as the crotch area is too wide causing chafing and the Sit bone padding is not adequately covered..
