My dog loves the entire VE line but especially loves this duck formula. We follow a freeze dried raw food rotation and this duck mix is fed approximately once a week as part of our rotation. I have found that my 25 pound very strong neutered female dog maintains a healthy weight of about half what is recommended on the package. In combination with our rotary feed, this ensures a very long service life. While the price may be shocking, the cost of a portion for dogs of the same size is often cheaper than dry food :) Additional benefits are very little poop! Since switching to raw freeze dried food my dog has gone from 2 times a day to 1 or even once every other day. One of the success tips I follow is that I hydrate this food about 4-6 hours before actually feeding (so I make dinner at lunchtime) and put it in the fridge. This gives it time to soften and swell. I also find that adding moisture to food makes it easier to digest and healthier. Just remember to cover and refrigerate if you leave it for more than 15-20 minutes.
