My granddaughter has a gait disorder ("club foot") and wears Sure Steps insoles to correct this problem. They must be in her shoes, and ever since she got them, it's been my mission to find shoes that fit those damn things! I've searched everywhere and finally found new running shoes, which are the only ones I've found that are very wide (there are orthopedic shoes that are expensive and look "orthopedic" and there's no point spending that much money on a 5 year old kid who grows like weeds and loves to jump in puddles!) These new balances turned out to be a great solution. Her confident steps fit the shoes without having to buy them so big they look like clown shoes, she loves them and looks just like any other little girl who wears them. They've held up well, even washed, and I've just bought a new pair for spring. These are great shoes for any child, but especially any child who needs wide or extra wide shoes.
