This was an exact replacement for a lid that was damaged by some overzealous cleaners in our house. others say it can be quite difficult to get the hard plastic over the pins. The hair dryer trick didn't work for us. In the end we carefully sawed off a tiny piece of the peg. That was enough to snap the lid on and it seems secure.
