The ink worked fine until the last Epson update. As a result, the ink cartridge worked perfectly for the last few weeks, but after the update it is no longer recognizable. I opened the 2nd black cartridge, unused and again unrecognizable. Depending on whether you have upgraded or will upgrade all of the cartridges before using them, I would absolutely not squash them. It would be nice if they had a guarantee or were willing to replace the chip.
