I didn't want to buy the headphones because of some reviews I read. I checked out a few and read the reviews. Some even said the cables weren't in the box (I did). I wanted a set that would allow me to turn up the volume on the TV and listen through my headphones OR just listen through my headphones. I also wanted to be able to hear any device with a cable. These all do. Headphones arrived the next day after ordering. When I opened the box I was glad the cables were there! The instructions were easy. I first tested the headphones with a cable on a mobile phone. Yes, it worked! I was concerned because the volume could only be changed using the phone and not the headphones, but I later realized that when using wirelessly, the headset controls actually control the volume. The volume with the phone and cable wasn't the best but wait until I explain when I hooked it up to my TV. The instructions state to connect a mobile phone to the transmitter using an optional cable to test the transmitter. I did it next and yes they worked! So far everything is going great. Then I placed it on the docking station to charge the headphones until they were charged. It lasted a few hours. Now for the big test. Connect it to your TV. I was also concerned about this because some of the reviews discussed the issues they were having. According to the manual, using the digital audio input on the TV is the best option. Yes, my TV has one! I connected the cable to the digital output of the TV and then to the transmitter. I put on my headphones, turned them on and the TV came on. Almost knocked me out. I had to quickly turn down the volume on my headset. The sound was much better than the original test connected to my cellphone. I could walk into the kitchen and not miss a word of what was being said! I like it! I can turn the TV volume up or down depending on whether I want someone else in the room to hear the TV. These headphones are worn over the ear. I wear glasses so the headphones got a little uncomfortable after a while, but overall they fit pretty well. I would like a second pair for the bedroom but one review said there was interference between their two sets. I don't know how to handle this in my small house. My mother is hard of hearing and I think it would be great for her to be able to hear TV. I was disappointed that they were made in China as I wanted to buy something made in the USA. Overall I'm happy with it. They do what I wanted, it was easy to set up and the sound with the TV is great (don't understand why some people say the sound isn't very good). I would like to give another review in a month or so.
