I bought the black 1.5L 1100w. I stay in an RV and am sick of heating 6 gallons of water and burning propane just to brush my teeth at night. This is such a waste of LP! I wanted to find a kettle/boiler that I can use for coffee, tea and hot water to brush my teeth. I needed one that didn't use too much electricity as I want my AC and kettle to be powered by my 4000w Onan generator. These are the stats from the first run, first use, fresh out of the box. I used a heat gun to take the temperature. (I washed the inside first and wiped the outside with a damp cloth). Ambient temperature: 76 degrees. Water temperature: 66 degrees. 23 feet above sea level. Total time to boil water (before auto shut off): 9 minutes 25 seconds. . (It turned off after 9 minutes 40 seconds) After 4 minutes, the water temperature was 118 degrees. After 5 minutes 15 seconds the "boiling sound” started. Do you know when the water makes a noise before it boils violently? At 6 minutes and 30 seconds it was producing light vapor. Not difficult like cooking. After 9 minutes the temperature was 186.8 degrees. (Water boils at 212 degrees F (100 degrees C)). After 9 minutes 25 seconds the water boiled. After about 15 seconds, it turns off automatically. I hope you find the information useful or interesting. I will update my review if I have any issues with it. I think that's a great device for $20.
