Nice flashlight without much power consumption

Good flashlight, looks great too. It takes up little space and I had to purchase additional mounting plates to adequately cover the existing holes. The USB port is great for charging my phone. This light is sufficient for reading at night. I would like a larger dimming range. The brightest setting is fine, but I wish it was even dimmer on a low setting. One question I asked about this flashlight prior to purchasing it (which went unanswered) was the standby current draw. The controls are touch-sensitive, so obviously they use some power even when they're off, so they can feel when you touch them. When charging into my trailer, power consumption can be critical, so I wanted to make sure there wasn't much of it when idle. Nobody knew the answer, so I measured it myself after receiving the light. Here are the results: Standby current: 8.0 mA (0.102 W at 12.7 V). Night light current (blue light): 16.4 mA (0.208 W at 12.7 V). Light at full brightness: 158 mA (2.007 W at 12.7 V). I know the description says they are 3 watt bulbs. I measured less, which is good for me. Less is better. Also, the standby current of 8mA is negligible, so I'm happy (literally).

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
