Review on IVISII LED Video Light Kit - 2-Pack Photography Lights with Stand | Dimmable Bi-Color Panel Light for YouTube Video Shootings & Studio Photography (3000K-8000K) by Courtney Johnson

Out of the box I was impressed with the compact convenience of this kit but was disappointed with the second when I plugged in the first light. There are no segments in the first digit of the color temperature display. The light seems to work differently, but this deficiency makes it difficult to quickly and easily set the color temperature using the light controls. This is unacceptable for a new device. The segments will light up intermittently, teasing the possibility of proper function. But I've learned from the past that ignoring flaws in new purchases just because other features seem okay isn't a good idea in the long run. Unfortunately the set has to be returned. I bought this kit on purpose because the lights are side lit to evenly illuminate the panel which reflects off glossy surfaces smoothly and unobtrusively. Unfortunately, these sidelit LED panels from IVISII turned out to be unrelated to other sidelit panels like Savage's sidelit LED lights. Savage panels have fully uniform backlighting, are a pleasure to look at and produce beautiful reflections for desktop work - it's like staring at a white computer screen with no visible pixels. The IVISII lights aren't easy on the eye, however, because instead of being uniform and smooth, they're covered in prominent spots that cause grid-like reflections. I can't use the lights for the tabletop photography I bought them for. (I could try installing some extra diffusion, but I bought these panels specifically with side lighting so I don't have to and I can quickly and compactly set up light with soft reflections.) These lights, I'm sure, are ideal for many applications. when they arrive fully functional. not mine.
