This might get long, but I take my mattresses very seriously. I have always used soft mattresses and pillowcases. After the back surgeries, my back kept hurting when I stood up. Someone convinced me I need a hard bed. After searching and getting feedback, my friends suggested buying this firm mattress. The first night I slept on it, I woke up with a little back pain. After sleeping on it for a week, I woke up with no back pain. The mattress really supports my back. I sleep more comfortably and it's great! When I opened the mattress, I let it air out for about 1-2 nights because it was sealed in a bag and the mattress had to settle. I recommend this mattress to anyone who needs back support while sleeping!
