Review on πŸ”₯ BENCHMARK FR Flame Resistant Gaiter: Premium Men's Accessories and Scarves by Justin Herman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works, Made in the USA, Inexpensive

First I tested these leggings for fire resistance. I have quite a bit of experience with FR clothing and can confirm that it is FR clothing. You may see Revain consumer photos showing burn holes in the product, but all FR garments are destroyed when exposed to fire. What they don't show in the picture is that all FR products become brittle when burned and crack very easily when exposed to a flame so there is a hole that needs to be photographed. There are better products (Massif, Dri-fire, etc.) but they are much more expensive as they are made from a higher proportion of blends of better materials (nomex, modacrylic, etc.). What's a bit odd is that the benchmark doesn't list the exact composition of the material on the label, instead saying "2nd skin modacrylic/cotton/nylon blend". It's not clear if they use a flame retardant or non-dripping/melting chemical treatment. I would buy it again as it's made in the USA and is surprisingly cheap.

Pros
  • Tired of the itch? Skin-friendly and light. This FRC flame retardant fabric is safe to wear next to the skin while working. The flame retardant materials used do not cause allergies and do not react with your skin. We voluntarily comply with the strictest international health regulations regarding formaldehyde, ammonia, arsenic, heavy metals and other toxins. Go and sweat in it.
Cons
  • No rifle
