First, the item is excellent. Plain and simple, figuratively and literally. It's solid with good weight distribution for large laptops like my Hero III. Unintentionally, the protrusions that actually hold the laptop are big enough to hold in place and allow the screen to open, due to the design choices of this particular laptop (and yes, it's pretty comfortable using the panel upside down because of that) . I expected it to be lighter than it is, but it's better to be heavy. It's for a table, so yes, it should stay in place. In my scenario, I lost access to the USB-C port due to the orientation (one of the bars on the stand itself only gets in the way as the laptop needs to be slightly relocated). And since it's actually a bit thick on the table, I had to switch to an HDMI cable with a lighter end so as not to get in the way of the stand. Either way, no need to worry. No doubt this thing will have many uses.
