I needed a new HDMI hub switch as I use it from more devices now. This was highlighted for me by several comments that have already been left. I found that a lot of people didn't like it because it automatically switches when an item appears, especially the Switch console when it updates. I have no problem with this as none of my related items are connected to the internet. So I found it perfect for my needs. I don't like having my stuff connected to the internet all the time, so a little "bug" won't bother me. When I received it I found it exactly as described by others and works great. Without worrying about items connecting to the internet, it goes to nothing until I activate the item and am ready to use it. That's great because it's one less task for me. However, if I want to keep watching TV while my daughter is playing, I have the remote to switch it back, I just need to remember which number is connected to what. They got used to it pretty quickly and now they're just an object with the backlight on. The device itself doesn't seem cheap, although I didn't exactly drop it to test that theory, but it was accidentally dropped, there wasn't a scratch on it and it worked fine. Great device worth the money.
