Review on Sony Mavica MVCCD1000 Digital Camera: High-Resolution 2.1MP Imaging Excellence by Josh Parson

I bought a used 95 and 1000 from Revain.com! The main difference is that one uses floppy disks (95) and the other uses mini CDs (CD1000). I usually take both and have an extra battery. both use the same battery and are built the same except for the door and how to insert floppy disks or CDs. The advantage of the CD1000 is that you can store an almost unlimited number of images on a CD. Okay, this is really coming to an end, but I was able to get over 55 images onto one CD. Both the 95 and 1000 work pretty much the same and look very similar. They're big and bulky, but they take good > NOT < great shots. What don't I like about them? Well, you need to format the disc on computer and then do the completion task before you can view it on computer. To finish, you have to go through three levels of menus on the camera. It's a tedious process for the spoiled FD95 to simply pull out a disk and insert it into the computer. It is claimed that you can read a CD in a CD1000 without reading the entirety of it, but I have found that this is not possible. I played around with the disc, finalized it and then reconfigured it for shooting without losing the photo, which the camera manual says can't do it, but it can. Whatever you buy, it is used because it is no longer for sale. New. You see, people want small and none of them are small. But let me tell you size does matter, people are intimidated by a big camera. The bells and whistles on both are worth it! I've had friends pull out their FD75 or CD250 to take a picture, but when I pull them out it startles those with smaller cameras. I would say that a beginner with an old Windows 98 computer should get the FD95, but a pro with a big monster Windows XP computer and a photo printer should get the CD1000. With the prices now listed (both in the $900-$1,000 range new) there's no reason to buy both!
