It closes perfectly - here's the tip
It would be enough for Asus to simply include this tip in the supplied quick start guide. The screw that secures the SSD has a notch (see attached photos and videos). I didn't run a speed test, but I was able to mount the drive in Windows and access files from my old computer with no problems, and now have a safe home for my old SSD in case I need more files or want to reuse the drive. I am very happy with the purchase. This device is of good quality and works as expected.
