We live where it's below freezing this is perfect with a fleece bed for babies to sleep in. It runs a little big, so if your child isn't quite outgrown a size 3, wait until a size 4. However, the padding and fabric are like a soft blanket. Baby won't catch a cold and unless it's teething or has an ear infection, it'll sleep through the night with this and its sound machine. As for the zipper, the size 3 zipper jammed once after about 2 months of regular use. We were able to fix it. We have found not to zip up when putting in the dryer, both for the zip and for full drying. We had no problems with bars. Toddler loves to get up in their bed and the extra legroom ensures they don't sag when they fall asleep on the covers.
