My daughter is nine years old and has muscular buttocks and thighs. The kid-size dance shorts are a little big in the hips and waist, but too tight in the butt and legs, and long in the legs - they ride up and baggy, and she always plays with them while she dances. On a whim I tried these adult XS shorts and they are PERFECT. Shorter legs (one inch inseam vs. 2), narrower at the hips but bulkier in the seat and legs. Fits perfectly. Height 54 inches, weight 65 pounds.
