I have been using this for many years and this product is amazing! As soon as my carpet becomes tacky and dirty, I clean it and add glue stick. I wait a few minutes or hours (about 1-2 hours) and that's it, the sticks are like new! I noticed Michaels doesn't wear them anymore so that's where I get them. That's great! Once you open a new one, you'll need to pump it to get the glue to start flowing. (You will find this works once the pen turns blue). I did about 15-20 to get it flowing. Works great. If your mat gets too sticky after drying, I just put my hands on the mat to flatten it, but it will still be sticky and won't tear your papers.
