Disappointing: Camcorder

There are a few things the buyer should know about this product before purchasing it. The description states that the camera comes with three lenses - a standard built-in wide angle and a macro lens. Technically, the wide-angle lens cannot be used without a macro lens. And a macro lens can't focus anything clearly, regardless of lighting conditions. Because a macro lens can't focus, and a wide-angle lens screws onto a macro lens—it can't be attached directly to the camera—a wide-angle lens can't focus either. So it can come with three lenses, but only the built-in lens can be used. This is the first. The second thing to know is that there is no image stabilization built into the camera. So every handshake while holding the camera is visible in the footage. The included gimbal helps reduce jitter, but not completely. Therefore, using a tripod is highly recommended. You may also experience audio playback difficulties on your computer after transferring the footage. Quicktime does not recognize the file format, although it writes a .mov file. The Movie and TV Player included with Windows played video but no audio. Windows Media Player and VLC could play everything. I also had some trouble editing the file. Sony Vegas Pro saw the audio but interpreted it as static. I uploaded the same file to WeVideo and had no problems. I'm not sure what codec is used to record audio, but it's not something that's widely available on Windows systems. However, not everything is so bad. The menu system is very easy to navigate. The microphone is rechargeable and picks up sound well. The foam microphone cover even filters light wind. The image from the built-in lens is quite clear, but the closer you zoom in, the blurrier the image becomes, as if it had been over-magnified on a computer. If you are someone looking for a decent camera at a reasonable price to set up a tripod and record videos for Youtube then this could be a good choice for you. But if you're looking for something more than that, then look elsewhere.
