Looking back on a year of wearing this belt once or twice a week. Let's start with the buckle. When inserting the strap, it is very easy to pass it through the top or bottom of the buckle instead of the thin slit in the middle. I will be purchasing another of these belts but with a different buckle and looking forward to a 5 star experience. Everything else about this belt is excellent. After about 100 uses, the ratchet will not wear out and the skin will still be sharp. No unsightly signs of wear like when weight loss/gain forces you to use a different belt hole. The skin is long, with markings on where to cut for different waist sizes. I used kitchen scissors, but a sharp knife and a steady hand will do. I trimmed it down a bit as this is my first experience with a ratchet strap. After a few months I trimmed it down to a better length. Remember that the strap can be adjusted several inches, so you don't have to rush to trim it. Great belt. Great new belt technology. The buckle looks good but could work better.
