The printer works fine with the first set of cartridges. I have ordered a replacement set. Today Epson Updater notified me that a new firmware file (bug fix) is available. I downloaded the firmware and now the printer does not recognize other brands of ink. Also, Epson makes reloading old firmware almost impossible, so you have to buy their ink. EZInk hasn't released a workaround. So the options are to buy a $100 ink kit from Epson or buy a new printer (preferably not from Epson). This practice is considered illegal. I've read on forums where Epson has done this for many models. Who's ready for group action?
